26th and 27th of April 2025 - Cullenagh Spring Clean
We are organizing an estate clean up as part of the An Taisce Spring Clean Campaign (See https://nationalspringclean.org/).
This is an opportunity to show your pride in the place you live, while meeting your neighbours and (hopefully) enjoying the Spring weather!
The sort of tasks anticipated are to pick up rubbish, perhaps cut and edge the grass on the verge outside your house or do that first trim of your hedge if it overhangs the footpath.
If you want to get involved with others in community projects there are opportunities for:
The Green Fingered to weed the community flower beds and shrubs and to refresh the bark mulch.
The Muscular to prepare the ground and sow grass and wildflower seed on the the path and meadow on the land at the end of the spine road by the lake. In addition, there are plenty of furze bushes to cut back on Derg Hill and the Corner of Lakeview (lower).
The Enthusiastic to pick up rubbish along the spine road, on the rough verges adjacent to development sites and on the path down to the lake.
Members of the Cullenagh Residents Committee will be present at the "Oak Tree Site" between 10am and 11am on both Saturday and Sunday with supplies of plastic bags and high visibility vests and will help match volunteers to tasks.
